What do you need to offer redundant hosting.

It will depend on the redundancy that you want to offer, basically you could have redundance within one or two data centers.

One data center redundancy. you need to avoid the single point of failure by following those simple rules:

Use a minimum of two bandwith providers and run bgp4 to ensure that the IPs can be accessed from any of them.

Use a minimum of two DNSs, mail servers and web. Run the replication of the servers and use software to replicate the data or run a cluster of servers using a highly redundant NAS system.

If you use two data centers to offer hosting redundancy, ensure to have a dedicated line between the two to be able to synchronise the customers' data.
